Michael Terpin, Co-Founder, BitAngels: Michael Terpin began SocialRadius in 2007, the latest chap
ter in a 25-year career in public relations, Internet marketing and digital innovation. A serial entrepreneur, he has been frequently written about as a pioneer in online PR and marketing, newswire distribution and social media/Web 2.0 marketing. Since May of this year when Michael co-founded BitAngels, the first multi-city angel network and incubator dedicated exclusively to digital currency startups, it has attracted over 120 investors and US$18-million in capital. Michael has been a frequent speaker at leading technology and marketing conferences, including Ad:Tech, CES, E3, European Technology Roundtable (ETRE), Frost & Sullivan Sales & Marketing Conference, NAB, Public Relations Society of America (PRSA), Red Herring, Southern California Software Council and VNU Digital Media. Brock Pierce, CEO, Affinity Media: Brock Pierce is an entrepreneur best known for pioneering the
market for virtual goods in online games. He has founded or co-founded seven companies, acquired more than thirty companies, and closed a dozen corporate finance transactions securing more than $200 million of funding on behalf of his companies. Pierce is credited with creating and consolidating the market for virtual goods in online games, as well as the media properties supporting such games. Pierce founded Affinity Media, formerly Internet Gaming Entertainment (IGE), in 2001. The Company raised over $100 Million from blue chip investors such as Goldman Sachs and Oak Investment Partners. During Pierce’s tenure as CEO from 2001 to 2007, he managed the acquisition of over 30 companies and established operations in Shanghai, Hong Kong, Seoul and the United States supporting more than 600 employees. Today, Affinity Media owns the world’s leading marketplaces for the trading of virtual goods with system wide annual revenues exceeding $500 Million and one of the largest gaming networks providing information and services to the world’s 500 million gamers. Pierce currently serves as Vice Chairman of the Board. Tiffany Wan is a GovLab Fellow and Strategy & Operations Senior Cons
ultant in Deloitte's Federal government practice. She is currently researching virtual currencies and the impact of this emerging financial technology on the global economy and international security. Her area of expertise focuses on the intersections of strategy, finance, and policy. Tiffany's experience includes policy formation and implementation, financial forecasting, and debt/budget management for Federal agencies, multilateral institutions, and a variety of U.S. municipal entities.
