Original Video Programming - TV-Tablets-Smartphones-PCs - The Video Explosion
It's happening and it's premiering on the Net. Original web programming is coming from Netflix, Amazon, DirecTV, Discovery, of course from YouTube, Turner and MTV! Is it starting to sound familiar? The web is delivering mainstream entertainment and all the mainstream media companies are chiming in. We might call the new movement in web video as “Digital Hollywood!”

Nathan Brown, General Manager, Video and Complex TV, Complex Media: Nathan Brown joined Complex Media in 2013 as the General Manager of Video and Complex TV. He oversees the development, production and distribution of all original and branded content for Complex TV, as well as video product, partnerships and business development. Brown is a creative development executive, content production veteran and entrepreneur with over 15 years of deal-making, business development and talent management experience. Prior to joining Complex he helped develop and distribute multiple award-winning projects for brands and advertising agencies. And in 2010, he Executive Produced his first feature film, premiering at the Austin Film Festival before screening in festivals around the world. He served on the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art's Contemporary Extension Board of Directors and was the founding Board President of the San Francisco Film Society's Midnight Club. Nathan studied advertising in Texas and completed his education at Regents College in London. He now lives blissfully fog-free with his wife and French Bulldog in Manhattan.


Alyssa Vitrano, Director of Content Marketing, Mindshare: Alyssa Vitrano is a
Content Strategist with 15+ years of experience in print, broadcast, digital and social media. As the Director of Content Marketing at Mindshare, she works across agency clients, including American Express, Unilever, and Bacardi to define the role of content in relation to marketing goals, research consumer and marketplace insights to develop concepts, and forge relationships with strategic partners to help distribute and amplify content. She collaborates with our partners to drive creativity and consistency as ideas are developed and eventually executed. Prior to joining Mindshare in 2011, she worked at Digitas in the branded content division The Third Act, developing and executing innovative, organically integrated branded entertainment programs. Most notably she worked on Kraft's Effie Award-winning “The Real Women of Philadelphia.” Alyssa brings a vast knowledge of content and editorial experience to the brands she works with, having worked in digital development and production at IMG Entertainment, in broadcast as a news producer and talent director at MTV, and in print as the Entertainment Director of YM magazine. She has a BA in English and Creative Writing from Middlebury College.


Maha Al-Emam, Vice President Product, UX and Technology at NBCU's DailyCandy.com. Al-Emam is responsible for evolving the company's digital products. She will lead development of a robust digital strategy that enables DailyCandy to deliver industry-leading consumer products and commerce across multiple platforms including web, mobile, social, emerging media and email. Previously at Bloomberg.com, Al-Emam was head of global product for .com, responsible for the entire suite and strategic direction for the property overseeing the product and PMO teams for news, digital multi-media, markets and publishing tools. Notably, she created new solutions in breaking news publishing on social media networks and was instrumental in advancing Bloomberg.com's Live & Video verticals to an industry leader in streams viewed on a News and Finance site. Prior to joining Bloomberg, Al-Emam was the Director of International Markets Technology in Europe, the Middle East, Asia, Africa, and Asia Pacific at the Wall Street Journal Digital Network. Al-Emam played a crucial role as part of the executive team responsible for extending the Journal's local language portfolio in some of the larger European economies. Al-Emam studied in both Europe and the United States. She currently resides in Brooklyn, NY.

Gary Reisman, CEO, Co-Founder, LEAP Media Investments: Gary is CEO of Leap™ Media Investments., a premier media investment and brand-alignment company. NMM was founded in 2014 (now the holding company of NewMediaMetrics founded in 2004 and Leap™ Content Investments founded in 2013)/ LMI uses the LEAP™ Platform - a patented process that quantifies and leverages consumers Emotional Attachment (EA™) to brands and media properties. Through this process, Leap™ Media Investments creates audiences of individuals based on their Emotional Attachment to brands and media that can be targeted in online, social and mobile media via its unique modeling techniques that are deployed through its DMP and DSP relationships.













Reid Genauer, CMO Magisto: Reid Genauer champions a holistic approach to creating consumer-facing digital products at the intersection of technology and creativity. His driving personal mandate is to foster long-term vision for companies that are changing the face of commerce and culture and transforming the world we live in. Genauer is the CMO of Magisto, a social mobile video ecosystem driven by artificial intelligence and automated mobile movie production. His previous roles include management positions at Fox Mobile Group, eMusic and Snapple. Genauer holds an undergraduate degree from the University of Vermont and an MBA Cornell University He is an avid musician and perform.








Cameron Friedlander, VP, Global Innovations, Blast Radius, WPP Group: Cameron is VP, Global
Innovations at Designkitchen. Utilizing his progressive insight into existing and emerging technologies, he guides our agency's vision of crafting innovative solutions anchored by experience in design. Cameron weaves Designkitchen's strategic, creative, and technological facets into one driving force, designing digital ecosystems that usher our clients' brands into the environments of their target audiences. His solutions have launched effective campaigns for our clients, proven successful by their storytelling across multiple user touchpoints; physical, device, digital, and social constructs. Cameron has over twelve years of strategic marketing leadership and technology experience. Beginning at Designkitchen in 1999, he and his teams have conceptualized and developed award-winning solutions for numerous Fortune 500 companies, including HP, Sears, CVS, and Motorola, in addition to TD Ameritrade, Burger King, Land Rover, and Johnnie Walker.






Steve Bradbury, Chief Operating Officer, Zazoom: Steve Bradbury brings over two decades of
knowledge and hands-on experience optimizing the intersection of mobile, broadband, social media and legacy media business models. Most recently he was the VP, Content Strategy & Business Affairs for GoTV Networks, the premiere U.S. mobile media network. Steve has also developed business strategies and monetized assets for companies such as Sony, The Improvisation and Engage Games Online. His corporate experience also includes MGM Worldwide Television and Universal TV. Steve moderates panels at many major conferences, is a board member of the Center for Digital Media Entrepreneurship at Syracuse University and led the Hollywood & Digital program at UCLA Extension for seven years.
